Jeff Poole,
CEO, JSP Marketing
Jeff Poole knows the value of service.
He learned it first-hand—from the back of the house to the front, and up through the ranks of sales. He also knows the value of a handshake and the “personal touch.”
When Jeff decided to launch his own business after 20 years in hotel sales and service, he had two objectives: one, to set his company apart by providing a superior level of service; and two, to represent only cities that could deliver the same.
That led him to specialize in mid-size cities. “Big cities have a lot to offer, but any one group is just a drop in the bucket. You’re just a number to them. The cities I represent are willing to work a lot harder to earn business—any business—and they pull out all the stops to ensure a successful event.”
Jeff’s roster of cities offers another big advantage: value. “The cost differential between a mid-sized city like Lexington or Grand Rapids and a Chicago or Las Vegas can be enormous,” he says. “There’s also the value of convenience—just getting around big cities can be a major hassle.”
Of course, city selection can also be a hassle—unless you work with Jeff. “I see my role as a facilitator,” he says. “I work with clients to identify their needs, and I show them how one city or another is best for them. Then I make the proper introductions, saving clients a lot of time and energy. Plus, I’m always available to help any way I can.”
Jeff is very proud of the three cities he represents. “Not only do they all live up to my service standards, each offers a totally unique experience. I think it’s the ‘local flavor’ that really helps make an event memorable.”
Jeff is pretty memorable himself. He’s accomplished a lot during his more than 20 years in the hospitality industry. He’s an active member of several trade associations, and he’s a founding father of “Daddios,” an industry networking group. He may be best known for hosting client trips down the Potomac River on his boat. (Now you know where that logo comes from!)
Jeff and his wife, Susie, reside in Virginia with their children, Jessica, Jonathan, and Samantha; and their dogs, Simon and Alvin.
